Within the framework of the activities foreseen in the European academic exchange program ERASMUS+ KA 171, the University of Prishtina, Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary, had the pleasure to host director and Professor, Dr. Miklos Heltai, of the Institute for Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation, Department of Biology and Wildlife Management in Godollo, Hungary. Except for the lectures with students from the departments: Veterinary Medicine and Animal Production, field work was organized by Msc. Miranda Imeri. Miranda is a former student of the Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary and currently a PhD candidate under Prof. Heltais mentoring with a thesis on "Development of Wildlife Monitoring Systems of predators species in Kosovo" and the field work is part of her PhD. The field work was organized in the Blinaja Mountains in cooperation with the Agency of Forestry and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Kosovo. The working group led by Prof. Miklos Heltai, Msc. Miranda Imeri successfully implemented a non-invasive method for wildlife research, together with Prof. Asst. Blerta Mehmedi and other students from the Faculty of Agriculture, as well as wildlife photographer Arian Mavriqi using camera traps to monitor and record species in certain habitats. Also, the collection of samples in the field, including the faeces and hairs of wild animals for DNA analysis, has been organized and completed. The samples will be transported for further analysis to the Institute for Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation in Godollo, Hungary.

The project idea for the ERAMUS+ 171 exchange between Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Institute for Wildlife Management and Nature Conservation, Department of Biology and Wildlife Management and University Prishtina, Faculty of Agriculture and Veterinary was prepared by Prof. Miklos Heltai, Prof. Assist.
